Mensa Testing
This term some of our Most Able Year 11 students were given the opportunity to participate in Mensa IQ testing. 10 students took part, who are all on track to achieve A and A* grades in their GCSE’s this summer.
Mensa is the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. It is a non-profit organisation open to people who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized, supervised IQ test. On the verbal reasoning test, which was used in the school session, the required score was 148 to be able to become a member. The average IQ score is 100, which demonstrates how high the standard was.
All of our students scored exceptionally well, however one student, Helen, managed to achieve the required standard and scored 149, placing her in the top 2% of the population. This score has qualified her for Mensa membership.
Below are the IQ scores of some students who took part, and the percentile for their score.
