Across years 7, 8 & 9 all students are involved in enrichment sessions each week, with all students able to opt from a wide range of activities including sports, performing arts, design, leadership and many others. As a school we feel this is a fantastic and unique opportunity, encouraging students to become passionate learners whilst adopting improved habits, attitudes and behaviours towards their own wellbeing and physical activity.  Students get the chance to be involved in activities that they wouldn’t normally have the chance to do in the core curriculum. The sessions help students to develop their skills, understanding, resilience and personal qualities, all of which we believe are so crucial to their school and personal development.

Year 7 and 8 students take part in enrichment during one PD session (40mins) each week. They take part in one chosen enrichment subject during each term, so take part in three different activities during the year.

Year 9 students complete their enrichment on a Wednesday afternoon between 1.30 and 3.10pm. Through Autumn term all year 9 students partake in a programme of enrichment opportunities led by school staff and outside agencies to develop knowledge and skills in aspects of first aid, leadership, teamwork, Creative skills and problem solving tasks, personal ambition and health and wellbeing . During Spring and Summer terms, students are assigned 4 different enrichment activities from their choices. We hope that the students will be able to find something that appeals to their personal interests or gives them the opportunity to develop new skills. Through this time students also have the opportunity to work with tutors from Selby College and experience courses from the college in Sport and Public Services, Art, Design & Media, Construction, and Hair/Beauty & Catering.

Across years 7 to 9 the choice of activities available offers opportunities for students across a wide breadth of interests, and to develop current interests, as well as take part in activities they may never have experienced before. Below are the enrichment clubs running for 2022-2023.
