Summer School 2014

This year’s summer school was a huge success with over 150 of our new Year 7’s taking part.

The summer school was run over 10 days and included some great activities and shows including water races, ceramics painting, science experiments, sports including archery, fencing and wheelchair basketball, Samba, dance, drama, bird of prey displays and much more. We also took the time to ensure the students had the opportunity to meet their new classmates, make new friends, get to know their way around school and most importantly talk to us and ask questions about their concerns and apprehensions about starting Selby High School.

The Summer school was organised by our fundraiser & Community Liaison Officer, Mrs Lorraine Chambers, and was run with the help of Selby High School support staff, guidance staff, students and local organisations.

Every student who attended said they would recommend it to any new starter and that attending summer school had made them more confident and excited about starting Selby High School.
