STEM Event

On Wednesday 13th July, Year 10 More Able students were invited to participate in a STEM Event in conjunction with Nybep. Students were invited to take part due to their high target grades, or their potential to achieve the top grades. The day was designed to enable students to experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through workshops with external providers such as the University of York. Students spent the morning in a carousel of workshops on engineering and bridge building, the compound of materials and the process of natural selection. The afternoon was then spent in speed dating with industry event which involved employers from Portakabin, Access to Music, York St John's University, Drax Power Station, Aviva, Doosan Babcock, The Navy, 3AAA apprenticeships, Nestle and The University of Law. This allowed students a chance to speak to employers in small groups to find out more about the work in different industries.

Thank you to Nybep and all the companies involved for their time and expertise, making this another very successful STEM Event.
