'A Real Audience' Competition

Year 7 competition winners visited Selby Abbey Primary School on Wednesday 28th June to share the stories they had written with two Class 3 groups. We were warmly welcomed by both classes and our students very much enjoyed engaging with a younger audience and sharing their work about friendship, kindness and celebrating diversity. Selby High School students presented their work beautifully using confident voices, engaging questioning and even encouraging the Selby Abbey students to interact with the stories through making the loudest animal noises in the jungle!

After the students had read, they worked in table groups presenting activities to the children and working on new story ideas. It was an absolute privilege working with our students and collaborating with a local primary school.

We look forward to next year!
