Selby High School awarded Artsmark Gold
Arts Council England has awarded Artsmark Gold to Selby High School in recognition of the school’s commitment to, and excellence in, arts education. Selby High School is part of the 1676 schools in England who received an Artsmark award this year.
Paul Eckersley, Headteacher of Selby High School said:
“I’m delighted that the Arts Council has recognised Selby High Schools dynamic arts education programme. Artsmark is more than simply a mark of distinction to us; As a Specialist School for the Arts we are constantly developing our arts provision, and as a result, see our students become more self-confident, engaged and excited about learning.”

Selby High School supports the Campaign for the Wearing of Seatbelts in memory of Neil Houliston, a former student, who died in a car accident whilst not wearing a seat belt, on Christmas Day 2005.
